When you visit Las Vegas you need to be prepared and ready for a break which will leave you open-mouthed in wonder. There truly is nowhere else on earth quite like this desert oasis of total and utter craziness, filled with a million lights, countless casinos, and more entertainment options than you will ever find the time for. Vegas is a once in a lifetime destination which everyone should experience.
If you are lucky enough to find yourself heading to this city in the middle of the Nevada Desert, then you will need to do a little research ahead of time, to make sure you don’t miss something interesting and fun! You’re not going to fit everything in, so don’t even bother trying, however you will find more than enough to fill your time, both day and night, and you will probably return home exhausted.
The best piece of advice is to wear comfortable shoes, because you might think that the main Strip is walkable, but it is much longer than you might think! Consider this a true desert mirage, and make use of the guided open top bus, where you can hop on and off to your heart’s content. This is a great way to get to the famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign too, as this is located at the very far end of the Strip, towards the airport, and isn’t particularly easy to walk to, thanks to busy roads.
Be sure to spare enough time away from the casinos to see the Las Vegas attractions, of which there are many! The Grand Canyon is within very close travelling distance to Vegas, and is an ultimate must do during your visit. This natural wonder is really something to behold, and you can go one step further and have a helicopter tour if you want to really up the ante! If a helicopter really is your thing, then a tour over the Strip at night is a wonderful sight to see too.
Of course, Las Vegas shows are epic, and whether you go for a musical or a concert by a true legend, finding the best value tickets is a must do. Always make sure you get your ticket from the Box Office or a reputable dealer, and not from touts on the street, otherwise you may find yourself disappointed.
On top of this, there are some other attractions and activities which you might not think of when you consider Vegas, such as shooting experiences, hot air balloon flights, and nightclub tours. Additionally, maybe a visit to check out the waxworks at Madame Tussauds is on the agenda, and have your photo taken with your favourite celebrity!
Vegas is certainly a busy place to go, but it is one which will fill you with memories that will last a lifetime, and definitely a camera memory card bursting with photos! Try not to gamble your holiday money too early at your hotel casino, but keep your fingers crossed for a big win, which will certainly fund your shopping spree in the city’s many glittering and designer stores.
